My Skincare Routine – Olive + Trilogy Reviews

Hi everyone!

Today’s post is going to be about my nightly skincare routine and will include 2 product reviews.

About a year ago I reviewed the REN Skincare Exfoliating Cleanser and Clarifying Clay Cleanser and I have to say I still adore these products but it got to the point where I just couldn’t afford to keep purchasing them (I was sharing them so it became a monthly purchase). Also I discovered the Eiwit Zeep/Eggwhite Soap which was much more affordable.

At the moment I am using the Eiwit Zeep and every 2-3 nights I will swap it out for the Olive Illuminating Face Polish, which is the first of today’s reviews!

As I mentioned above I use this every few days to give my face a good exfoliate. I have dry skin and I find the Eiwit Zeep to be quite drying and my skin feels very tight after using it. I don’t think I’ve had flaky skin yet this year, and although it’s summer and quite humid I think it is partially thanks to this product! Also as an exfoliator it will remove any that you may have.

This is only a 50ml bottle which is half the REN exfoliator’s but I’ve found it has lasted me a long time. I’ve been using it for a little over 2 months and I think I still have a good month or two left! But that said this is quite harsh so I’m using it much less often.

The back of the product labels it as being free from parabens, mineral oils, artificial colourants or fragrances, silicones and animal testing! This product is also made in New Zealand which I really like. I’ve had bad reactions to more ‘natural’ products before as I have severe plant allergies but I’ve had no side effects with this. It has pleasant and clean fragrance.

This product has clay in it which is amazing for the face and very calming. This product also contains grit in it, which isn’t microbeads! It’s actually sugar and finely ground olive pips! This brand only use natural exfoliants in all it’s products and they’ve written about it on their website here.

This product costs $27 which I think is definitely worth it, it should last 3-4 months with sparse usage. It works well with my dry skin and it doesn’t give it a tight feeling.

Next up is the Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream!

I use this every night and I adore it! As I’ve mentioned I have dry skin and this works wonders for me. I first got a small sample of this as another Farmers freebie and I knew I had to buy a full size!

This is a 60ml jar and I’ve had it for about a month and I would say I’ve used about 1/4 of it. You only need a tiny amount to cover your whole face! Also I am using this every single day

This is another product that is nice and natural and not irritating for me. This is cruelty free and made in New Zealand as well! They also have a large F.A.Q. on their products so if ingredients are important to you it’s easy to check up.

This moisturiser is contained in a frosted glass jar which feels really fancy. I love when moisturisers or creams come in glass jars as it reminds me of old vanishing creams and they have a nice feel to them.

This night cream has a lovely thick texture that isn’t too heavy on the face. In the second picture I had just rubbed it in and as you can see it doesn’t have a greasy look (or feel). It gets absorbed into my skin pretty quickly, but I find that if I put more on it doesn’t get absorbed for quite a while so one layer is plenty.

This night cream is $54.90 which I think is more than worth it. This should last 4-5 months but of course I can update when I run out. I will definitely be re-purchaing as this is the best night cream I’ve tried!

So that’s a quick rundown of my skincare with the new products I’ve mentioned. I’m really enjoying both of them and it’s great that they are both cruelty free and made in NZ (in-case you hadn’t picked that up) You can purchase both of these products from their main sites or in Farmers – they will also usually have testers of these products.

Thanks for reading!
