Sorry it’s been a while since my last update, I’ve been super busy and not really feeling blogging and I think it’s important to take a little break every so often. Anyway I’m back now and have a bunch of ideas ready to go.
As a good start I thought I would talk about a beauty/skincare product I am head over heels for!
Ta-daaa! Eiwit Zeep, or Eggwhite Soap, which is an eggwhite based soap from Belgium. My mother bought some of this for me last Christmas along with a few other European goodies. I usually use REN skincare products as I have previously blogged about, but I did not have the means or money to get more. I decided to give Eiwit Zeep a whirl!
Would you believe me if I said I fell in love after the first wash?
Like it probably sounds ridiculous but there was even a difference after my first wash. My skin felt insanely smooth! And it has continued to. I have been using it for around 3 months I think and am still on my first bar, it’s so nice that it doesn’t run out quickly. I can probably get a few more weeks use of it, but as you can see I have a fresh bar all lined up.
It’s described as a facial soap and I would definitely describe this as a solid cleanser. I don’t even need to take off all my foundation and this will clear it all away. After just a week of using it I noticed my skin was noticeably softer (I would get everyone to touch my face) and my pores looked smaller! Sometimes I get lazy and don’t wash my face for a while but whenever I come back to it it does not disappoint. I don’t have a lot of acne or breakouts, but this has definitely lessened the severity of them.
The directions are to work it up into a lather and then smooth it over your face and let it sit for 5 minutes. I like to take the majority of my makeup off before applying this, and while it is sitting I will brush my teeth and maybe check Instagram a little before rinsing it off. It feels very slippery so rinse your hands after applying. It goes quite tacky after the 5 mins as it dries. It’s super easy to rinse off and you really can feel a difference after the first use.
The only thing is it can make your face feel a bit tight after use, which can feel a bit odd. This is easily remedied with a moisturiser so is no problem for me.
I buy mine from World stores and I think it’s $12 which is an incredible bargain. It seems to be hard to find here online, but it’s easy to order from overseas, and worth it if you buy it in a 6 pack (easy gifts anyone?). There’s another European eggwhite soap on the market called Lanolin-Ägg-Tvål which is from Sweden. I’d like to give this a try and maybe comparison post at some point.
