Thank goodness I am now up to date with these posts. My second installment about the lipsticks I am wearing during April to support the Red My Lips campaign to raise awareness about sexual assault. If you want to read my first week’s post the link is here.
A great start to the week by not wearing makeup. I wore my Lancôme Rouge in Love lipstick which I already covered in my last post. I won’t be posting any pictures of my no makeup days because on these days I am to lazy to even take photos and I just don’t feel like posting them online.
I had my rollers in all day because they didn’t dry the previous night. I used to wear this colour a lot more but I’m not into such bright lipsticks right now. This is the L’Oréal Infallible Le Rouge lipstick in 312 Ravishing Red. This is a very easy to wear lipstick, it has a great non-drying consistency and doesn’t bleed. It can feel quite tacky but that really helps the staying power. It mostly will need to be touched up after eating but not too much. It’s one of my shinier glossier, lipsticks and that finish does really last which is great.
My hair finally dried! This is the NARS Hardwired Lipstick in Deadly Catch, which I have shown previously but this shows the colour off better. I would recommend this lipstick to anyone for any kind of occasion. I’m not sure if it’s still available to buy in NZ but it’s still on the NARS website.
Shh, it was another Deadly Catch day…
But later on I switched to Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Nocturne and took some terribly lit photos. I already mentioned it in my Lady Suit post so take a look there for some better pictures. Hopefully I’ll have another nice chance to wear it this month. But this lipstick gloss combo thing is perfect for a special day or night and the colour is superb.
I’m wearing Zombettie by Pretty Zombie Cosmetics again today. This time I am only wearing one coat however, which shows how versatile it is. This would be my most convenient lipstick as it pretty much doesn’t come off on anything and only needs touch ups after food. Also it’s so fast to put on.
I’m sorry for another no photo day! My skin hasn’t really been managing recently due to the temperature change so it needed another break. I wore my L’Oréal lipstick in Ravishing Red again.
I’m running low on different lipsticks to show you all, I think a few of them may have gone walk about. Anyway today is a rather special one as I’m showing off my first blue-red/true red lipstick I ever had. My first lipstick was a NARS one in Heat Wave which I will eventually get to. But this one was my first one for vintage and pinup wear.
This is Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Rouge 01. I really want to love this lipstick, the colour is gorgeously bright, the shine level is perfect without jeopardising the opacity. But it bleeds. I don’t wear lipliner which would obviously make a huge difference but I have seen a few reviews about where people have worn bleed protection and it doesn’t fix it completely. I think this is because it’s so moisturising it just kind of slips away, which is such a shame. If this sounds like your kind of lipstick and you have a lipstick application method which prevents bleeding then pick this up because it is honestly the only drawback. And if you do – then leave a comment because I would be interested in what people use as I should invest in it.
